I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED MY WHOLE PROJECT!!!

Reflection 17.11.08

I havent had the time to post pictures of my progress in the Create phase of the design cycle, but I can give you an image of how the html code was growing during the creation of my webpage:

The very beginning, only the header and the background color!

Here I have created 1 table, with the first 2 links and the image of Bob Dylan (its a bit blurry I know!)

Finished at last, you have no idea how long it took me to do all of this! The images never came out right!

The text (the whole image actually) is abit blurry, but it is all HTML code used to produce my webpage, which you can look at on http://www.geocities.com/anaf.moutinho/

Reflection November 4th 2008

Today I finished my plan!!!! It was MUCH MUCH MUCH easier than I thought it would be, and of course much quicker.

This means that for this lesson I can just chill, and relax, because I have finished my work ahead of time..... next lesson I will move on to the next phase.... CREATE!

Reflection November 3rd 2008

Sorry I haven't written a reflection in a month or so, I haven't had the time!!

Today is the first day after half-term, so were all pretty relaxed and are just getting used to the real world of school!! I finished my Design part of the project and have handed it in to Ms. Dietrich, I'm happy with it and have done everything I can to get a 6 on this part of the project!!!

Are the Internet and the World Wide Web the same thing?

Nope, they're not. The Internet is the actual connection, it stands for 'International Network', it is an International Network of computers. Like LAN is Local Area Network, and WAN is Wide Area Network, Internet is International Network. The World Wide Web is what you surf when your online on the Internet, it's a group of webpages that have been put together to create the World Wide Web.

So basically, when you're online/connected to the Internet, you're actually surfing the Web! (short for World Wide Web)

I did a test about the internet today that Ms. Dietrich created for us. I got 10 out of 10, so I think I know what the Internet is about!!

We also did HTML tutorials, and it was easy to do but now we have to do it for our webpages! It's going to take ages!!! I think I need to focus to make sure I get it done...

Today we did 3 assigments on paper about the internet/World Wide Web and its history. We learnt about what LAN and WAN are, aswell as what URL stands for.

I learned quite a few things today!

My Design Specification!

My HTML website is going to have:

• A Homepage - with links to all the other pages of the website and a Music player with his best songs.
• A Biography page - with his entire biography and awards that he has won.
• A Charity Page - A list of all the donations he has made and community service programs that he has done.
• A Lyrics page, with lyrics to all his songs.
• A Quiz page with 2 quizzes, one about his life and the other about lyrics in his songs.
• A Photo Gallery, with different albums of different tours or awards.

In total, there will be 6 pages to this website!

Reflection 9.09.08

I have decided to do Christina Aguilera as my artist for my website project, because I LOVE her music and her style!

I found a few websites with info about her:

http://www.christinaaguilera.com/ - has a good biography, with a biography and info about her awards and charities. It also has a really cool layout, its as if it was her dressing room so you click on her mirror, or necklace or calender for different things. Also talks about her concerts and tours!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christina_Aguilera - good info about her background. Has info about her charity work and endorsement for Sony Ericsson and other products.

http://www.christinazone.com/ - this is more of a fan site, with lots of pictures and info about her baby, and audio player with lyrics too. It also has a quiz, which gave me the idea of doing a quiz page on my website too, but not just 1, maybe 2 or 3 quizzes.

Reflection 3rd March

I have finally finished my actual design on Sketchup! I have started taking pictures of it from different angles to put it in my written work, I need to take more next lesson. I also need to do the Evaluation next lesson (or maybe Monday), and that will be it! Then the project is due on Tuesday.

Another productive day today!

Reflection 28th Feb

Today I continued with the create process, I am almost done, all I have to do now is add the finishing touches, double check everything, add a roof and I will be finished!

Reflection 25th Feb

Today I started (actually, continued) my actual design (creating). I am almost done, I just need to finish off the kitchen and dining room, color everything in, put a roof on and I'm done!!!!

Reflection 21 Feb

Today I worked really hard to get my plan finished, becuase I should really be on the creating process of my project. I worked really hard and I was really focussed and I managed to finish my plan! I didn't even play games in the 10 minute period because I was so behind in the project, but today I was really productive and I got all my work done!

I think that my final product is going to be really good!

Valentine's Day!

Today in class we didn't do the project, Ms. Castro told us to create something to do with Valentine's Day. What I created is on the left. It's a flower!!!!! At first I was trying to do a heart but I was losing my pacience because it wouldn't come out right....... so I decided to do a flower instead!

I had a lot of fun today!!!!!!!!!!!

Reflection 31st Jan

Today I wrote my whole design. I explained every single room in my trailer, the kitchen, the bedroom, the bathroom, the living room, all of the rooms. I also described the outside, the windows etc.

Then Ms. Castro called me up to take another look at my project. She said that my investigation was just a little too short, and that I needed to investigate the program more and put more examples of designs that I can/can't do. But she said that my design was very good, she said it was very detailed and specific.

Today I think I worked well, I was very productive.

Reflection 28th Jan

Today I continued with my design phase, explaining what I was going to do in my drawing, explaining every little detail. Ms. Castro gave us 10 mins of games in between the 2 periods.

Today I think I could have done a bit more work, I wasn't very focussed.

Reflection 24th Jan

Today I finished my design! I found 3 designs in the google warehouse and labelled each one of them, saying the things I liked and didn't like. There was one that was practically exactly the same as the one I had already planned to make in my head!!!!!

Reflection 21 Jan

Today I did a LOT of work. I finished most of my design and also started making my own drawing in Sketchup, I've made a bathroom and bedroom so far. I still need to make a kitchen though. (But this drawing won't be the final design)

Reflection 17th January

Today Ms. Castro looked at my investigation to see how I could improve it. There wasn't much wrong with it, all I needed to do was show a design which was impossible to make and then write about the target audience of Sketchup.

She also let us have a ten minute break to play games!!!!!!!!

Reflection 14th January

Today I deleted some of my investigation by mistake, so I had to do it all over again. But I managed to finish it though! :)

I messed around on Sketchup towards the end of the lesson, I started to make my design! But it is definitely not my final one.... It looked really cool though! It was a trailer of course, and it was really modern and hit had curvy edges, and circle windows, with black walls and a purple roof!

Today I had fun! ;)

Reflection 10th January

Today I was able to be more productive, at least I had my own computer! (but the first computer I went on was the one with the screen that flashes so I had to change!)

Anyways, I have almost finished my investigation, I did a lot of work today! I still need to do my introduction though...

Reflection 7th January!

First lesson back from the holidays.... and we had to share computers because there was a problem with the electricity!

Anyways today we continued with our investigations and then we messed around with Sketchup for the last few minutes. I made a skate park (a half pipe) and Ms. Castro taught us how to move a single object around to make it lie down on a surface.

Today was..... interesting!
